Kick off the week with the Design of Hip-Hop and see how Atlanta design is making an impact through Hip-Hop here in Atlanta and beyond... The Design of Hip-Hop will celebrate, educate and inspire the crossover, geographic shifts and transformation in business, design practice of what has influenced many cultures today and is recognized as a major revenue stream for many companies. How Conference attendees can mix and mingle with Atlanta creative professionals, budding designers and hip hop enthusiasts. Participate in this multimedia experience as we explore the many sides of hip-hop through design, culture, dance, fashion and business.

AIGA Atlanta volunteers have been involved in ongoing efforts to restore one of Atlanta’s landmarks. Rich in history, celebrity residents, and iconic symbolism, take a tour of the cemetery guided by local historians and enjoy a picnic with our typographical forefathers. Price includes transportation and lunch.

This event will take attendees from the Hyatt Regency Atlanta through the diverse neighborhoods and pubs of the Atlanta community. We’ll travel from Midtown to the Highlands to Buckhead – oh my! Don't be left out. AIGA Atlanta is hosting the second Biennial SEED Awards -- the Southeast's premiere design competition. A wide variety of design work, in print, environmental, motion and interactive -- from all across the Southeast -- will be judged by a distinguished group of professionals. The 2007 SEED Awards competition is being conducted on two tracks: In Track ONE – Case Studies will be judged primarily on their business value, recognizing design as a strategic tool. In Track TWO – Artifacts will be judged primarily on their cultural value, recognizing design as a craft. The 2007 judges include - Rick Anwyl (founder, EAI), Dana Arnett (founding partner, VSA Partners, Chicago), Pat Smith (former VP, Creative Director, Turner South), James Harris (founding partner, Elemental Interactive), and Minsoo Pak (SVP, Executive Creative Director, Sparks Grove, Inc.)
The competition will be capped by a grand SEED Awards Gala on June 11, 2007 at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, when all SEED winners will be recognized and their work will be on display. It will be a sparkling evening with friends, colleagues and peers enjoying great food, drinks and conversation, followed by an audio visual showcase of the winners and their work.
